I have always had a fascination for « the other »; getting to know other cultures, devouring books and learning new languages has been a part of my life. After finishing my A levels, I left Germany in search of new challenges and a deeper cultural understanding.
BA Romance Philology (Universitat de Barcelona, Spain)
MA Book History and Publishing Culture (Oxford Brookes University, UK)
While studying, I worked in different fields of the publishing industry (publicity, marketing,
Oxford Brookes University, Princeton University Press, Pearson, Voltaire Foundation, Taylor Institution Library (Bodleian).
Since I always liked to grow and challenge myself personally and professionally, I decided to take the step into self-employment in 2016. Now I am working as a freelance editor and translator in Barcelona.
In my private life, I prefer to read book recommendations, biographies and books that deal with the history and culture of different countries.
My professional focus:
.: especially editing, copy-editing and proofreading teaching material for language acquisition (German and Spanish) as well as textbooks (natural sciences and humanities)
Clients include Pearson, Difusión, Westermann, Kronecker Wallis, RBA, Institut dels Estudis Catalans.
.: editing and proofreading academic essays and dissertations in German.
.: evaluating of crime fiction novels.
Already as a child, I travelled around the world fascinated by the languages spoken around me. Since I no longer live in Germany, translation has been part of my everyday life. Whether at university, at work or with friends, I speak at least four languages every day.
I help companies reach foreign customers better through commercial and informative translations.
